Bristol Motor Speedway
Bristol, TN
In honor of the long-time Bristol Motor Speedway president who passed away last October, for 2011 Food City has renamed their event as the Jeff Byrd 500 presented by Food City.

Held at the Bristol Motor Speedway, the course’s oval has been home to some incredible finishes and heartbreaking wrecks. This track has seen the best drivers of NASCAR fly around the 0.533 mile oval track at incredible speeds. In 2003 Ryan Newman completed a lap in less than 15 seconds, and today’s drivers are faster than ever. Don’t miss one of the most exciting races of the year at the Jeff Byrd 500 presented by Food City.
Because of its extreme banking and short length, the Food City 500 and Sharpie 500 are less races of pure speed than ones of strategy. Drivers are forced to think ahead rather than react with their foot. You’ll see a lot of bump and run at Bristol, leading to epic battles for a prime spot in front. The 500-lap race is also considered to be one of NASCAR’s best, having been won by the likes of Jeff Gordon, Jeff Burton, and Kyle Busch, to name a few.
